Located very close to Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, Maidan Wardak province is considered a gateway not only to southern and northern Afghanistan but it play most important role in the national economy of that country the Maidan Wardak province is one of the central provinces of our beloved Afghanistan which is surrounded by the following provinces, to the north Bamyan and Parwan provinces, to east Kabul and Loghar, to south Ghazni and to west Bamyan province is located at 35 km drive from Kabul city.

It has a total of 128000 acres of irrigated land and per family 4.3 acres land is available which a very limited number. The Maidan Wardak has warm weather in the summer season and dry and cold winter that the high regions are often covered with snow in general , people of this province are engaged in agriculture , forming, gardening handcrafts, and most income of these people come through this route. Carpet weaving, shawl weaving woolen jackets, furs, handworks, are the major handcrafts of this province, but unfortunately they are at the declining side.

The agriculture products includes, wheat, barley, maize, especially, vegetable and fruits especially apple and fruits, which are particularly famous and tasty along with its local use a major part of these products are also exported abroad. This province also has postures and forests, and one can see at the banks of these forests the trees of almond and nuts. The industrial estates of this province include. Chak Wardak hydropower dam, but it unfortunately destroyed during the two and half decades of imposed and devastating war, and as the time passed the turbines became depreciated, which needs immediate rehabilitation.

The marble minses of charkes of Maidan Shar and Tangi of Sayed Abad District, chromate mines in Narkh District, lime mines in Daimirdad and iron mine of Haji Gak Belongings to first part of Behsud district are particularly famous and will play important role in the countries future economy.

From archeological and historical point of view province of Maidan Wardak holds second place in the country and within 40 historic and archeological places are located in this province and till now 18 of them have been egistered. The site of alghata in Narkh District, qala-e-arg in daimirdad tape mazar in jalrez district and area of farmeris tribe in the marakze Behsud districts are amongst the famous archeological and historical and historical sites of this province, which have attracted national and international tourists. In Maidan Wardak province areas of Maidan Wardak, Jalrez, first part of Behsud and Markaze Behsud are especially attractive due to having natural sceneries and beautiful valleys.

Due to continuous wars and droughts agricultural irrigation systems have been severely affected agriculture production levels have dropped down due to destruction of agricultural institutions, cessation or slowing down of research process, production and promotion of improved seeds and plants, chemical fertilizers, bid condition of irrigation system and unavailability of control over diseases and so on the basis of above causes farmers and Poor’s of this province are facing many economical problems, due to these imposed wars many governmental properties, hospitals, clinics, schools, residential areas, etc have been ruined or damaged. Majority of culverts, bridges and roads have been destroyed.

Due to the special attention and inexhaustible efforts of the governor of Maidan Wardak Abdul Jabbar Naeemi who dearly like rehabilitation and also in improving security, poppy cultivation education, implementation of DIAG process and overall rehabilitation of livelihoods of people and meeting their prime and besuc needs, one can see all over the province positive changes, which caused acquiescence of the people of the province as a whole and they showed their total acceptance by sending messages and opinions regarding his seemly  and continuous efforts.

According to Governor Jabbar Naeemi during the past three years a lump sum of ninety one millions seven hundred forty four thousand and eight hundred and ninety one 91744891 $ equivalent to for billons five hundred eighty seven millions two hundred forty four thousand five hundred and fifty 4587244550 afs have been spent over governmental buildings, hospitals, clinics, schools, and other social welfare projects, from which some are completed and some are under construction and this is counted as a prominent achievement in the recent history of the Maidan Wardak province  these all have happened with the help of Allah and exhaustless efforts of us , yours, members of the provincial shora and assistant of the peace loving population of this province.

A document prepared by administration of Maidan Wardak province, maximum focus made on ensuring peace and stability in the area. Similarly, provision of proper living infrastructure for the Afghans being repatriated from in and outside of the motherland become second on priority.

Safety and security safety and security in accounted as the first preference of the governor’s office and in order to dwell security and stability the leadership of the province have undertaken many endeavors- in this regard separate meetings have held with the Ulema, elders and leaders of the province have undertaken many endeavors- in this regard  separate meetings have held with the Ulema, elders and leaders of the province and in order to attain their assistant in keeping safety and security, considerable achievements have been accomplished and fortunately had positive impacts on the overall security and stability of the province.

Discouraging poppy crop cultivation in 2005 in total of 4765 acres of land narcotics was grown. Due to continue efforts of the leadership and people of the province form beginnings of 2006 this province was declared free of poppy and form there after no one have attempted to grown this inauspicious and gloomy plant.

In order to provide alternative livelihood, at first 5 hundred thousand US dollars have been granted, through which new green houses would be built and secondly one million dollars more have been allocated to through which, in the upcoming year social welfare projects will be developed.

It is mentionable that not only strict action have been taken to strict action have been taken to ban narcotics cultivation but in order to ban drug trafficking their smuggling and import strict action have been taken . in order to cure the narcotics addicted patients at Maidan Shar, separate hospitals have been inaugurated by Abdul Jabbar Naeemi in 14 august 2007 which includes 20 beds, and a number of 125 admitted patients and 138 OPD patients have been cured by the doctors of this hospitals.

Implementation of DIAG process in order to disarm the unauthorized people and collect their weapons and armaments in the course of the past three years end less efforts have been made in order to better implement this process the member of the DIAG commission under the leadership of the honorable governor of the province visited all the related districts, and the results were assessed a beneficial and successful fortunately till now greater than 600 units of arms other illegal ammunitions have been collected and handed over to the DIAG commission  and in these days it is considered to declare Maidan Shar free of illegal ammunitions.

 Building governmental structures total of 8029294 US $ have been spent to build governmental buildings, parks and other governmental structures.

In rural developmental activities in national solidarity a total of 1041 councils have been developed, and the allocated amount to this cause is 20740815 US$ - which will be spent on 1177 ongoing projects, from which 561 have been completed and 616 are under completion. These projects include. Construction of roads, dams, schools, large and small bridges, provision of generators and other projects and also many programs have been undertaken by the directorate of developments and the report of these activities have been describe in the following pages of the report.

Education sector. The people of Maidan Wardak province have deep interest in knowledge and education and the children of this province are very intelligent and hard working it is mentionable that across the province 267 following schools exits.

52 high schools, amongst them 2 are girl’s schools. 69 secondary girls schools 14a6 primary schools amongst them 33 are girls schools.

The total number of students in these schools reaches 127000 from which 23000 are female students. Also the total number of teachers during the past three years 66 new schools have been constructed and a number of them are under construction.

 It should be mentioned that 87 schools had their own building and 123 schools still don’t have their own buildings but in education sector a total of 9584447 US $ have been spent on building and repairing schools- construction of the surroundings of schools and digging wells for providing clean drinking water. In order to decrees the level of illiteracy across the province, whether in the capital of districts, a total of 28 literacy courses have been established, through which 700 people are learning and these courses have been established with the help pt the provincial rehabilitation team PRT of our friend country turkey further more 12 literacy courses have been established with the help of the directorate of education, though which 360 students are learning and a total 25 literacy courses have been established with the help and assistant of UNICEF, through which 675 students are learning and finally a total 65 literacy courses are active throughout the province and a total of 1735 students are continuing their studies there.

The process of open contest is also in progress through recruitment commission of the province in the education sector, and till now 16 teachers have completed this process.

In order to develop the capacity of the teachers and lectures of the education sector, variety of the education sector, variety of seminars and workshops has been developed and the educational and learning programs are continuing throughout the province.

Health sector. Provision of health services across the Maidan Wardak province is well maintained in all over the province 4 hospitals, one hospital for addictives 9 comprehensive health clinics (CHS’s) 25 basic health clinics (BHC’s) 10 sub – centers are present for provision of health services during the past three years 25 hospitals and clinics have been newly built or repaired and the total cost was 2235400 US$.

Agriculture sector. During the past three years, in agriculture sector a total of 3901128 US$ have been spent on construction of cold storages in Maidan Shar and in sayed abad district, also in order to provide improved seeds- chemical fertilizer- provision and distribution of agricultural materials to the farmers of the province these agricultural services served to the needs of the farmers and gardeners of the Maidan Wardak province and caused considerable changes in agricultural sector.

Irrigation sector. From the beginnings of the year 2006 till now in irrigation sector a lump sum of 1412642 US$ have been spent on diversion walls cleaning of streams and karezes – construction of dams and stabilization of rivers.

Road construction in the past year a total amount of 44892171 US$ have been spent on road construction which hinclueds 54 KM road from Maidan shar to Ouni Pass 19 Km road rom sayed abad District to Onkhi valley and 25 Km road of Chak District and construction of many other roads, culverts and bridges.

Cultural sector. A total amount of 439000 US$ have been used up on cultural sector in the past three years which includes rehabilitation of local radio station of sayed abad district installation of antenna and provision of materials to the Radio & Television of Maidan Shar establishment of cultural centers in all the administrative departments of the province.

Telecommunication Sector.

A total of 510000 US$ have been spent on the establishment of the Telecommunication sector of the Sayed abad – Chak – jalrez- Hesae awal and Markaze berhud districts  and provision of CDMA and GCN facilities and also installation of telecommunication apparatuses.
