You might have information that Maidan Wardak Province is one of the backward central provinces of Afghanistan. As the other provinces of the country, the last three decades of war has mostly affected the province and local residents. Mostly administrations are destroyed and people war struck by drought. Presently For reconstruction of the destructions plenty of efforts have been made and also urgent and more efforts are necessary, especially in educational field.

Compare to other parts and parcels of Afghanistan, development process in the central Maidan Wardak province is going ahead in the wake of unprecedented interests and dedication of its administration.

‌ Maidan Wardak Province is one of the six central provinces of Afghanistan. It is located 35 kilometers to the west of capital Kabul and has divided into eight districts.

MAIDAN SHAHR, Aug 2 (Pajhwok Afghan News): Three development projects have been completed at the cost of $1300,000 - provided by the Turkish-led Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) - in Maidan Wardak.

The schemes executed in the central province include a sports complex, cold storage and a water tank, according to officials, who said a large number of people would benefit from the facilities.

Maidan Shar, the administrative headquarter of Wardak province is located on the main Kabul-Kandahar highway just 25 km west of Kabul; is the prime example of real development in Afghanistan. Five years ago, one could not only observe few damaged buildings but the present situation of this small city is totally different where nice buildings, roads, beautiful parks, residential dwellings, further construction work and other development can be observed.

While crossing the border of Kabul on the Kabul-Kandahar Highway, one can see a new gateway that has been built on the main road of Kabul-Kandahar. Both sides of the gateway have beautiful stands covered by red bricks. On the top of the get there is a picture of President Hamid Karzai with turban and his smiling face. This portrait gives good news to all passengers passing this road. His smiling face invites one to see a newly constructed city. The city of Maidan Shar, bounded by ills surrounded Maidan Shahr.
